The
2005
Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach, CA is the perfect, casual
backdrop for Roy Slavin's industrial but playful 3-dimensional
pieces he has affectionately dubbed nowhere man. These
works of art emanate into spectacular bursts of color on unique
textures, driving a mood that is both captivating and soothing
all at once.
Using
plaster of paris, precision-board, clay, wire, cement, gauze,
fish netting, and screens, the nowhere man's slightly tilted
head gives the viewer pause to consider where he may be going
or from where he came, and invites you to come along for your
own, personal journey.
